Alhamdulillah, pada 2 November 2012 kami telah melangsungkan akad nikah. This is it then, the beginning of the rest of our lives. Semoga kami selalu dapat menjadi road trip buddy yang terbaik bagi satu sama lain, saling menemani dan menguatkan, serta berbagi banyak cinta, tawa dan memaknai hari. Amin 🙂

It’s funny how things work out sometimes.
Most girls I know has set a maximum deadline to get married. By that, I mean they plan to get married BEFORE a certain age or timeline. I, on the other hand, had a minimum deadline : I wasn’t planning to get hitched UNTIL I turned 30. Or until I’ve had enough of the rat race climbing corporate ladders.
Most girls I know, has also planned their weddings since adolescence. Some even have scrapbooks filled with pictures, ideas, fabric scraps, etc. I was never one of those, either.
Most of my friends and family also thought me unlikely to get married anytime soon – if ever. Some predicted my life would be filled with recurring dramas of different themes, involving many shady characters unsuitable for the dream I set for myself. Well, I thought the same thing.
As fate has it, a brave man decided to venture into my life, and proposed to merge his with mine. We may even decide to procreate and give life to another human being.
I am now still surprised, scared, anxious and ecstatic all at the same time…. and as it turns out, slowly morphing into a bridezilla. I wish I had been those girls who had a wedding scrapbook all planned out since adolescence. At least I wouldn’t be so flabbergasted by all the details of wedding planning.
Aside of that, though, we are so excited to be building a new family and a new life. Highly anticipating the potential adventures that lie ahead in our path. So here goes!
Bismillah…
